Baburam Boju

We found this honey by accident.
One afternoon, while returning from a hike to Resam Gumpa, we lost our way in the forest trails. After wandering for some time, we came across a small house hidden deep among the trees. Around the house were several beehives, but they looked very different from the wooden apiary boxes most people are used to seeing.
These hives seemed almost built by nature itself, with occasional wooden planks placed around them for support.
The house belongs to Baburam Boju, who lives just below Rinchenpong. Her main livelihood comes from rearing sheep, but she also keeps bees around her home. The bees feed on wild forest flowers, including rhododendron and chestnut blossoms that grow naturally in the surrounding hills.
The honey is harvested only once a year and remains completely raw and unpasteurised. Nothing is added to it and nothing is taken away
